Assam Warriors Sports Academy denies issuing letter, Calls it fake; Tura Football Trial to continue on September 5

Tura, September 2, 2026: The Assam Warriors Sports Academy, Guwahati, has clarified that a letter allegedly circulated in connection with a football trial in Tura was not issued by the Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) and has termed the document fake.


In a letter dated September 2, 2026, bearing reference number AWSA/Prem/2026/29, the Assam Warriors Sports Academy addressed players and parents in the Tura–Garo Hills region and stated that it had conducted an inquiry with the Meghalaya Football Association regarding the matter.


According to the academy, the disputed letter was not issued by the Meghalaya Football Association. The academy said it had made inquiries after a matter concerning the Tura trial came to light on September 1.


The Assam Warriors Sports Academy further stated that the football trial will continue on September 5, and requested all players and parents to be present.
The academy also warned that it would take legal and disciplinary action against those who allegedly misused or mentioned the name of Assam Warriors Sports Academy in connection with the disputed communication. It stated that the matter may also be taken up with the All India Football Federation (AIFF).


The clarification comes amid concerns among players and parents regarding the authenticity of communications related to the upcoming football trial in Tura.
The academy has urged all participating players and their parents to attend the scheduled trial on September 5 and follow the official communication from the academy.
