Ampati, Sept 2: The Civil Society A·chik Welfare Organization (CSAWO), HQ Ampati, has urged the Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, to intervene over alleged poor-quality work, delays and frequent stoppages in the construction/repair of the Ampati–Salmanpara Road via Purakhasia.
CSAWO President Tryans Ch Marak said the organization inspected the road work on multiple occasions and found the execution to be “extremely poor and substandard.” He alleged that despite repeated requests to rectify the defects, work continues with frequent stoppages.
The organization said the condition of the road is causing serious hardship to commuters, particularly school students, patients and daily workers.
CSAWO has demanded an immediate spot inspection, strict adherence to prescribed construction standards, timely completion of the project, and appropriate legal action against the contractor/company if the allegations are found to be true.
“Good road connectivity is a lifeline for our people. The substandard and delayed work on this vital road is causing serious problems to the public,” Marak said, urging immediate intervention by the district administration.
