TURA, October 1, 2026: The Post Graduate Students’ Union (PGSU) of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura Campus, has raised concerns over delays in the implementation of a ₹35 crore PMJVK infrastructure project and alleged examination-related discrepancies affecting students of Loyola College, Williamnagar.

The union has urged the campus authorities to expedite the tendering process and commencement of construction under the project sanctioned by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. It has called for priority to be given to student hostels, academic facilities and other essential infrastructure.

The PGSU has also sought greater transparency and a clear timeline on the project, citing the continuing shortage of facilities at the Tura Campus.

Separately, the union has approached the NEHU Controller of Examinations over grievances raised by Loyola College students. According to the PGSU, students have reported unexpectedly low marks, including zero and single-digit scores, along with delays in the declaration of re-evaluation results.

The union has demanded verification of the affected answer scripts, early declaration of pending re-evaluation results and clarification of the evaluation process.

The PGSU said the issues require timely intervention to safeguard students’ academic interests and ensure the effective implementation of the sanctioned infrastructure project.
